An impressive work of traditional Yemenite Jewish art, these 925 Sterling Silver candlesticks are crafted in a small workshop in Israel.  With their intricate lacework featuring oriental scroll and floral motifs, these unique candlesticks will add beauty and style to any home!  Above the ball and cone shaped stems, the candle holders are formed as delicate petals around an ornate crown.
Solid stylized bases. Perfect gift for a wedding, Bat Mitzvah,  anniversary, family heirloom to display and to hand down through the generations.

About Shabbat blessing
: A daughter / child lights one candle and a married woman lights two candles. It is traditional to give charity before lighting the Shabbat Candles The Shabbat candles should be lit no later than 18 minutes before sundown on Friday evening (i.e., before Shabbat begins) While covering her eyes, the woman waives her hands over the flames three times, to welcome the Shabbat, and says the Blessing : Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe, Who sanctified us with his commandments and commanded us to kindle the Shabbat candles

Jewish Yemenite Filigree Art
was developed by Jewish silver and goldsmiths in ancient Yemen, and is related to Judaism and Judaica, being used particulary for religious holy occasions like marriage, engagement etc. This technique was commonly practiced in Yemen and in the Jerusalem art school BEZALEL – Israel - (established in 1906). Today very few craftsmen are practicing this wonderful skill, most of them passed away or moved to practice a more modern line of work, therefore real handmade filigree items are fairly hard to find.
