    Description

A superb and rare photo of the
    1927
    Harley-Davidson 74 c.i. (1,200 cc) Seventy four Bigtwin
    with
    1927 HD factory sidecar
    .
Harley debuted a completely new motorcycle, the seventy-four, in 1921. It was a sporting motorcycle that featured a 74 c.i. (1,200 cc) F-head V-twin engine. The inlet valve was constructed as an overhead valve, the exhaust valve was a side valve. This so called i.o.e. (inlet over exhaust) design worked incredibly well for H-D and marked the end of the previous pocket-valve era for HD. The
    Seventy-four
would remain in production until 1929. By then its twin cam successor was already available to the public as well.
The “ Seventyfour ”‘s surplus of power meant it was a great bike for a sidecar. Off course this was also an official HD accessory at the time, making it an ideal form of transport for many families worldwide that wanted to travel in style!
This is a very nice and very rare non period photo that reflects a wonderful era of Harley ‘s motorcycle history in a wonderful way. This is your rare chance to own this photo, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 12" (ca. 20 x 30 cm). It makes it perfectly suitable for framing!
