Relaxin is secreted primarily by the placenta, and it is the only hormone specifically associated with canine pregnancy. The presence of significant amounts of Relaxin in dog's serum is considered a reliable indicator of pregnancy, thus, our RLX Canine pregnancy Test measures the amount of Relaxin hormone in the dog blood to distinguish between pseudo pregnancy and gestation.

Test procedure using Whole blood:
1- withdraw 1-2ml of blood.
2- withdraw 3 drops or 150ul of whole blood into test cartridge well.
3- withdraw 1 drop of buffer solution into the cartridge test well. (used only when utilizing whole blood)
4- please Wait 15 minutes for the result.
Test procedure using Serum:
1- withdraw 1-2ml of blood.
2- after the blood is completely coagulated please spin the blood in the centrifuge for 10 to 15 minutes to get a quality Serum.
3- withdraw 3 drops or 150ul of Serum into test cartridge well (no buffer solution is needed when utilizing Serum)
4- please Wait 15 minutes for the result.
Storage conditions and expiration date
The original packaging is stored dry at room temperature 2-30 °C, valid for 18 months, and can not be stored frozen. Open the sealed aluminum foil bag before use and use it within 1 hour after opening the original packaging.
Please note:
- All test components must be in room temperature before running the test.
- The test cartridge must be used within 5 minutes after opened the pouch.
Interpretation of test result:
- Positive (+): the presence of both "C" line and zone "T" line. Faint results must be classified as positive. (Pregnant Canine or Feline)
- Negative (-): only clear C line appear. No T line. (not pregnant)
- Invalid: no colored line appears in C zone. No matter if T line appears. (retest again)
